Prof. Christa Reicher

She has been head of the Chair and Institute for Urban Design since October 2018. Previously, she helped shape the Ruhr region through her professorships at TU Dortmund and FH Bochum. Since January 2023, she is the head of the UNESCO Chair for Cultural Heritage and Urbanism. She is a member of various institutions and advisory boards.


She studied architecture at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, and recieved the Bachelor of Science in 2020. At RWTH Aachen University and Universita degli studi di Padova, Italy, she finished her studies with the Master of Science.

Since summer 2024, she is working at the RWTH Aachen Chair and Institue of Urban Design as a research associate, specializing on the topics of circularity, Urbanism, and sustainable buildings. She plans doing her PhD on sustainable urbanism in the following steps.


He studied architecture, urban planning, and structural engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In 1995, he received a master's degree for his thesis on the relationship between architecture and 'urban culture'. His thesis was awarded a nomination for the NPS Culture Award.

He has a special interest in architecture, fine art, sampling, and typography.


She studied architecture, urban planning, and building science at the Eindhoven University of Technology. She graduated cum laude in 1998. Her thesis on the relationship between identity and spatial environment was nominated for the National Archiprix. As a lecturer, she teaches at various academies and universities in the Netherlands and Germany.

Since 2020, she has been a research associate at the RWTH Aachen Chair and Institute for Urban Planning. She is a member of several advisory committees and boards. She focuses on projects in the field of regional planning, urbanism, public space, architecture, interior architecture and exhibition design.


He studied architecture at North China University of Technology and TU Berlin University. Currently, he is studying in the master's program Transforming City Regions at RWTH Aachen University.

Since June 2024, he has been working as a student assistant at the New Regional Bauhaus, supporting academic activities.
